
GLSBPA Objectives: The Great Lakes Chapter of the American Shore & Beach Preservation Association (GLSBPA) was formed to bring together for cooperation and mutual helpfulness the various levels of government, interest groups and individuals concerned with the welfare of the Great Lakes coasts throughout the nine member states and provinces. The membership includes Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, western Pennsylvania, western New York and Ontario. The organization desires to foster, in all legitimate ways consistent with protecting shoreline resources, the reduction in economic and recreational losses, the restoration of damaged areas, and the construction of sound, economical, well-planned utilization of the coastal zone consistent with environmental law. The GLSBPA desires to serve as a technical forum for professionals and interested citizens alike, who are dealing with Great Lakes shoreline issues. The GLSBPA will strive to provide unbiased information to policy makers, homeowners and local entities charged with managing and protecting our valuable coastal resources. |
